Output was pointed at the headphones but I wasn't using the phones and wanted the laptop speakers. Provided with my old Asus laptop, never used before but has scuff marks. (Alternately, you can press Windows+i to open Settings, then navigate to System > Sound.) The Windows Settings app will open automatically to the Sound settings page. In the menu that pops up, select Open Sound Settings. To do so, right-click the speaker icon in your taskbar. Several times I had no sound and found the Buy Asus SonicMaster Subwoofer (for Asus laptops only) in Singapore,Singapore. It’s easy to change speakers in Windows Settings. ![]() Then in your multimedia folder run "Pulse Audio Volume Control" and check that the proper output is set (headphone vs speakers). Pulseaudio's volume control can help too: It's also good to install/or use the sound mixer your desktop uses and check it for levels (KDE -> Kmixer gnome -> ? ) I only use KDE4 right now, but there should be a mixer in Gnomes multimedia area. ![]() You probably want these active and up: Master, PCM, Front, etc but it won't hurt to set ones you don't use up Then hit the F3 key (note the line at the top that says what the func keys do, F3 is 'view Playback channels'Īre any relevant level bars (some channels won't effect your play back for example) all the way down or set to "mute", Mute is visible by "MM" at the base of the bar, "00" means it's on or active. For ASUS models pre-installed with ICE Audio Wizard, please click the icon as shown below to open the software. ![]()
